Shishir Kumar Mishra

Shishir Kumar Mishra was born in Odisha on 25 th December 1958. He graduated from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack and received a postgraduate degree in Applied Geology from IIT Kharagpur. After a brief service in ONGC, Mr. Mishra joined IPS in 1985 in J&K Cadre. During his posting, he served in various capacities in J&K Police, Border Security Force(BSF),and Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF). He has received the president's police medal for meritorious service and distinguished service, besides many accolades during his long tenure ; after retiring from the rank of Director General of Police J&K in 2019, he has settled in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha and has devoted his retired life to spiritual activities. His first book, Geete Geeta Bodha is on Bhagavad Geeta REFERENCES Essence of Geeta for Young Minds [313] in Odiya, where each verse was composed in simple poetic language. This book, Essence of Geeta For Young Minds , gives a picture of the fundamental essence of Geeta for enthusiastic readers. It is hoped that the book will help young and inquisitive readers.
