Professor
I, as a maxillofacial Surgeon have always found, the eye and its associated the toughest and the most complicated part of maxillofacial trauma. To further make it more difficult, the literature regarding it has always been scattered in various books and articles. This book was written with a view that the eye is a complicated structure, and literature regarding the eye, its anatomy, fractures, associated injuries, surgical approaches to the orbit, pedriatic orbital trauma, orbital reconstruction, post-operative care and the various scans needed to accessand evaluate the trauma and its complications, should be consolidated in one book. Not only it would be easy, for the maxillofacial students but the students of ophthalmology would also benefit and it would save valuable time running to the library or scanning various articles on the Internet It is difficult to find a single book which has all the literature regarding the eye especially from a maxillofacial point of view. Keeping this in mind, I wrote this book as a complete review of literature, consolidated at one place, making it very easy for any maxillofacial surgeon or student of ophthalmology to consult it specificallyregarding any aspect of traumaof the eye and its associated structures. The illustrations make the theory very clear. I hope the budding maxillofacial surgeons and ophthalmologists, find this book useful and precise. Wishing you the best in your profession and post-graduation studies. Hope every Doctor who reads this book benefits from it
