Dr Pravas Ranjan Sahoo, Assistant Professor obtained his master in veterinary science degree in subject of Animal Biochemistry at Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly from 2012-2014. During the time of research, he developed Gold based rapid assay for diagnosis of blue tongue in small ruminants. In year 2014, he secured 1st rank in both IVRI and NDRI PhD entrance examination. Subsequently he joined as PhD Scholar at IVRI again in subject of Animal Biochemistry. Mean time he was appointed as Assistant professor at the Department of Veterinary Biochemistry, CVSc & AH, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Meanwhile, he has completed 8 years of teaching and research experience and published 39 number research articles, 7 numbers of review articles, 1 Book, 2 book chapters in reputed national and international journals. He was awarded as 1st prize in best poster presentation at University of Allahabad. Moreover, he has visited to Japan to participate India-Japan youth exchange programme among 8 participates at University of Miayazaki. He got selected as ICAR International Fellow. Till now he has guided two MVSc students and acted as co adviser for 8 MVSc students. He got awarded Young Scientist Award for the year 2022 at SVBBI Conference Jabalpur, India. He was also awarded best teacher award for the year 2022 by Indian Education Award 2022. He was also awarded young researcher award 2022 by Institute of Scholars (InSc). Currently he is pursuing in service PhD in Animal Biochemistry at Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) after securing 1st position in ICAR-SRF examination 2020-21.His area of research is Nanotechnology, Cloning and Recombinant protein expression, Lateral Flow Assay, Drug Designing, Bacterial mutagenesis. His H and I index is 7 and 4 respectively
