Adip Roy

Executive Coach & professor
Adip Roy stands as a seasoned figure in the Indian IT Industry, tracing his career back to the 1970s with IBM during its operations in India before the era of globalization. Over nearly five decades, he has left his mark through work, consultation, and coaching with a vast array of India's IT giants, including IBM, Fujitsu ICIM, SAP, Infosys, Glaxo Smith Kline, Sony Corp, CMC Limited, VERITAS, Symantec, PCS Technology, among others. His experience spans across both large corporations and smaller firms, allowing him to intimately understand the industry's ebbs and flows, both on a macro and micro level. Throughout his journey, he has witnessed the industry's evolution from a hardware-centric focus to the emergence of standardized systems, with software taking center stage, and further into the realm of web-based cloud and AI systems that now drive our technology-centric world. Amidst these transformations, he recognizes the pivotal role of people – from the visionaries and leaders to the managers and taskmasters, from the tyrants to the techies – all of whom have shaped the trajectory of businesses. Amidst successes and failures, Adip Roy's experiences have provided invaluable insights. This book serves as an endeavor to narrate the tale of a business navigating through the seismic shifts of the Indian IT industry. It aims to illustrate how the interplay of people, their global and individual ambitions, technology, politics, influences, and strategic decisions ultimately shape the destiny of a corporation. Currently, Adip Roy serves as an Executive Coach and a professor at Symbiosis School of Management in Pune, India. This book marks his second venture into the realm of business novels.
